Testimonials
"For the Win Equestrian is a horse owner’s paradise: the farm is well maintained, the people are welcoming, and most importantly, the care of the horses is top priority. Alana is friendly, knowledgeable and supportive: she has helped me achieve my equine goals both in and out of the saddle. I feel totally comfortable leaving my horses in her care – I can stay home in bad weather or go on vacation without having to worry about my mares’ safety or comfort. To put it simply, I couldn’t imagine boarding anywhere else!"

"I've been riding at For The Win since May and I never thought I would love it as much as I do! Alana is an incredible coach, the horses are all very well schooled and taken care of and the people here are some of the nicest people I've ever met. I'm a part-boarder, and I have really enjoyed every experience that I've been given here at For The Win. The barn is well looked after, and the property is gorgeous! Overall, For The Win is a place where I feel happy, and at home."

"When I approached “For the Win Equestrian” in July my goal was to increase riding proficiency through lessons and to part board a horse allowing me to ride with my family. I was very impressed with the facility and Alana’s knowledge. She was very interested in my goals and assisting me to make the correct decisions. Since then, both my riding proficiency and confidence have
increased drastically. I am comfortable riding in many settings and consistently learning new skills. I attribute this to very personalized lessons allowing me to maximize my potential.
At “For the Win”, I truly have never met a more positive group. I receive consistent encouragement from all of the riders and always enjoy my time. I am very pleased, and look forward to riding long into the future."

"Every coach offers an important piece of the puzzle when learning how ride and work with horses properly and efficiently. I moved into For The Win Equestrian stable in November 2014, and started lessons right away with Alana Van Paassen, who not only coaches, but also owns and runs For The Win Equestrian. Right from our first lesson she picked up on the same old bad habits that other coaches saw in my riding, the difference this time, was the amazing way that Alana has at explaining what she sees. To the untrained observer, it would appear that Alana is doing some sort of weird pop and lock dance in the middle of the ring, and through her interpretive dancing, and metaphors, I GET IT!!!!!! I FINALLY GET what I've been doing SO wrong for SO long!!!! Every lesson thus far for me has been filled with many "A HA" moments; These moments bring me closer and closer to riding my horse properly and efficiently. The other "A HA" moment….Realizing just how willing and forgiving our amazing equine partners really are."

We've been at FTW Equestrian now for almost 6 months
and the it is by far the best barn and teaching I've seen in the Kitchener Waterloo area. We came to FTW Equestrian after being at another barn for 3.5 years and can't say I could be any happier at this barn. Alana's teaching is beyond amazing with her watching every detail and the way that her lessons are all private I know she's not getting lost in the 1 to 5 or 1 to 6 ratio other barns have.
If you are looking for a place where a rider can grow and excel in this sport, this is where you need to ride! Not to mention it's a great barn, people are so friendly, there's no drama or gossip!
